From development team, Ready at Dawn and SCE Santa Monica Studio, comes The Order: 1886, a video game released last year, 2015, for the PlayStation 4. It was recently revealed through an interview between Game Informer and Ready at Dawn’s creative director Ru Weerasuriya, that the video game IP certainly has a future, but it’s unknown right now if that means we’ll be seeing a sequel to the title anytime soon.
Within the interview, creative director Ru Weerasuriya stated there is a future with the IP and it was something that the development team had in mind for. This is something those players who already completed The Order: 1886 would already know about.
This larger storyline wasn’t given any additional details and in fact, when questioned if Sony would also be the publisher for the next installment, Ru Weerasurya wouldn’t confirm it and stated that Game Informer would have to ask Sony.
While the development team has pictured The Order: 1886 IP as having an overarching storyline that could be fleshed out with future installments, the original title was met with a mixed reception. Despite the reception of the original title, it still seems that Ready at Dawn is interested in building up the franchise, but at this point there are no official announcements that a sequel or another installment within the same universe is currently in the works. For now, you can check out the full Game Informer interview within the video posted above.
