Mafia 3 is a game about revenge and righting past wrongs. What better way to show what it’s about than to put it all in a trailer?
Slated for release this Friday on the PS4, Xbox One and PC, the publisher of Mafia 3 just released its launch trailer to showcase what it’s all about, featuring an original new track by Ice Cube and DJ Shadow.
Speaking in an interview, the hip-hop artist Ice Cube called it something cool to do on this level for the musical genre. “Most of the time it’s for movies, commercials or TV,” he said.
Ice Cube says that the song’s lyrics came from watching his sons play the game, which they had early access to. He described the game’s story as interesting and intelligent.
Whether that’s true or not remains to be seen when the game releases tomorrow. We, along with every other media outlet, did not receive early access copies to the game so you’ll have to wait for our impressions.
