Nuketown may be the most popular map in Call of Duty: Black Ops, but it's also the worst map the game has to offer because of its hectic layout and unsafe spawnpoints that get you killed upon spawning more often than not especially on full servers.
That said, people like it, and Treyarch has taken note of its popularity. To that end, the developer intends to feature a futuristic version of Nuketown in the upcoming Black Ops 2.
Titled "Nuketown 2025", the map is basically the same old Nuketown with some updated aesthetics to fall in line with the rest of Black Ops 2's futuristic setting. According to PC Gamer, the map may be either a pre-order bonus or a bonus for specific retailers. As it is with all exclusive maps, this may prove more of an annoyance than a boon to gamers who want to have all maps on their roster and may prompt some servers to exclude it from the playlist.
However, given Activision's success with the sale of map packs, there's little reason to think that the publisher will budge from whatever decision it makes with Nuketown 2025 or any other pre-order exclusive.
