Sony Adds YouTube Support to Vita

June 26, 2012 by Jen Shaffer

Neglects to create support group for what you will see.

Sony announced today that the Vita can now stream videos via YouTube. Access the PSN store and download the update to add YT functionality to your portable device. Once installed, you can search, recommend videos, comment, and like or dislike any of the "Call Me Maybe" parodies.

Adding this functionality to the Vita was imperative for Sony. With quite a small showing for the handheld at E3, early adopters might have felt left out of the convention. By tacking on features standard with most cellular phones, Sony might be softening the blow, but only a little. Maybe if the Vita had the ability to instantly record and post videos to YouTube, gamers might see more merit in the product.

You can now see people making fools of themselves, cute animals, and all the grime the internet has to offer in amazing clarity on the OLED touch screen. If you somehow accidentally purchased a Vita equipped with 3G, you can access these videos anywhere!
