CD Projekt Red just did a live-stream of their pre-E3 summer press conference and we're here now to tell you what they talked about.
Marcin Iwinski, CEO of CD Projekt, took to the stage to reveal that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has now sold 1.7 million units to date combined for the PC and Xbox 360 platforms. He also revealed that the game will be out in August 23 in Japan, while the game's Enhanced Edition will also see a Mac release this coming fall.
To round out the Witcher news, CDP RED also announced that they're offering a free digital "back-up" copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition to all PC players who already own the game or plan on buying it in the future. It's available here for those interested.
Of course, the big part of the conference is the unveiling of their new game. We already posted the details but to sum up, CD Projekt will be working hand-in-hand with Mike Pondsmith to create a game based on the Cyberpunk license — yep, the same Pen & Paper Cyberunk game from yore!
The Cyberpunk game will be developed by a a new team over at CD Projekt RED comprised of veterans from the Witcher franchise. However, no release date nor platforms were specified though. Understandable since the game is far from completion; heck, they're even hiring for the game now, so best be patient with it.
Now that all the Witcher stuff is out of the way, sister company GOG.com also had a few announcements in tow. First up, they revealed that Tomb Raider games 1-3 and Sid Meier's Colonization availability on the platforn, Aside from that, they also revealed a few indie games which are available for pre-orders and they are: Resonance, Tiny & Big in Grandpa's Leftovers and Retro City Rampage (with a modern twist, they reveal).
While I admit, I was half-expecting a PS3 port of The Witcher, a new game reveal isn't that bad…and it's not like they don't have the rest of the year to reveal for other reveals, no?
