This is a sci-fi game developed by a studio called the Ocelot Society. You’re stuck in space, all alone – except for the Unstable AI computer that can get you back home. Event[0] is a game set in an alternate retrofuture that’s a mix of the movie Moon but combined with 2001: A Space Odyssey and Brave New World.
It’s a first person narrative game where you’re adrift in space, and the only other intelligent life on this spaceship is a computer program named Kaizen. You interact with him at various portions of the game, typing messages back to him. This is how you’ll begin to understand what brought you here in the first place, along with exploring the ship yourself in order to gather information scattered around the game’s environments.
“Event[0] is like our AI child: over the past two years it has grown from a vibrant but limited concept into a fully realized narrative exploration game,” said Co-Founder/CEO of Ocelot Society Léonard Carpentier. “Our team has created an evocative world for players to explore and Kaizen can’t wait to find new humans to become best friends with!”
According to the developers, Kaizen has over two million lines of dialogue that it can procedurally generate. The computer reacts to what you say, expressing a degree of emotion as your relationship with it develops. The spaceship is the computer’s body, so best not piss it off.
Event[0] is set to arrive in September of this year for PC and Mac via Steam and the Humble Store. To keep up with the game’s development, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
