Well the earlier hint of Blizzard’s newest Overwatch hero was half-correctly guessed by the public. They have officially revealed the support sniper, named Ana. A gameplay trailer was recently posted showing off this newcomer in action.
Thankfully, the trailer wastes no time and gets straight to the point. Ana is a sniper that shoots healing buffs to other heroes, giving her a special place in the Overwatch ecosystem. But she’s not just a helping hand, as the trailer has Ana throw a grenade of some kind at enemies, making them more easy for allies to defeat via a debuff of sorts. When faced against McCree she was able to put him to sleep before he could finish his High Noon. Finally, she has a nano boost ability that gives other heroes a burst of speed for a limited time (and thy deal more damage, and take less damage from enemy attacks too!). She has many of the characteristics and features that rumors and leaks hinted at, so it seems there’s a definitive answer for everything now.
Blizzard posted a dossier that analyzes the various parts of Ana here. If you want to see her backstory, you can do that too, over yonder.
Overwatch is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
