XBOX has just announced that they have acquired the publishing rights to Kojima Productions’ PHYSINT.

Asha Sharma made these comments on their blog:
Creators have choices about where and how they bring their ideas to life. We’re honored that Kojima-san has chosen XBOX to work with KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS on PHYSINT. His ambition to challenge conventions reflects the kind of creativity we want to support at XBOX.
Hideo Kojima said this:
This expands our relationship with XBOX beyond OD. As we move forward with the development of PHYSINT, we remain committed to redefining the action-espionage genre for players around the world.
Kojima paid Asha a visit in Xbox’s Redmond headquarters last April.
PHYSINT was originally announced in a State of Play two years ago. And yes, Sony was the original publisher and financial backer for this game, a new stealth action game from the creator of Metal Gear.
XBOX also made it a point to add that they are also partnering with Kojima Productions to bring their projects to the movies and shows. This closes the window of any Sony involvement in Kojima’s projects, a decade after they helped launch his independent studio.
