It looks like we’re getting a new Mafia video game sooner than we expected. Though, it isn’t really new.
The ESRB has published a new rating for Mafia: Definitive Edition, listing the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as platforms. Their original rating for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One is also still on their website.
It still has the same M17+ rating for the same reasons, so we can expect the same game on these new platforms. Mafia: Definitive Edition released in 2020 and was built as a remake of the original 2002 game, made by Illusion Softworks.
While this remaster is coming a little late for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, it’s still welcome. Fans are still waiting for how Hangar 13 will follow up Mafia: The Old Country, but this game would be a good way to catch up to what happens next in the IP’s timeline.
