Rockstar’s plans for a big marketing campaign for GTA 6 are being stymied by a state government.

As we reported last month, Miami-Dade mayor Daniella Levine Cava giving the deal her OK has ironically placed a target on it instead of fast-tracking it.
The Miamian revealed in a new op-ed that several Miami-Dade county commissioners aren’t allowing the deal to go through, with many raising questions about how much the local government benefits.
In particular, county commissioner Rene Garcia claimed they found out that GTA 6’s marketing budget is at $ 150 million. Rene questions why the Miami-Dade’s contract with Take-Two is only at $ 957,000.
We don’t know where Rene found that $ 150 million number or if Take-Two can confirm or deny it. But if this marketing deal has become politicized, mayor Cava’s enemies could block it so that GTA 6 doesn’t get to run their Vice City / Miami campaign with the city completely.
Take-Two can still buy out ads, such as billboards and aerial advertising. But this blocks Take-Two’s ambitions to break through the mainstream – and to editorialize ourselves, Miami-Dade will also lose out on the tourism opportunities.
