PlayStation CEO Hideaki Nishino says the company is undeterred from making even more live service games.

In a new interview with Famitsu, he said this:
We believe that live service games are content that attracts users on a global level, so we want to continue to revitalize the market through both first-party and third-party content.
We are not only focusing on promoting new releases, but also considering what we can do with older titles in the medium to long term. Also, this year we are planning to release our own live service title, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and we hope everyone will enjoy it.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls was announced in June last year and will be releasing this August. As a fighting game, Marvel and Sony likely don’t expect it to be as huge as Marvel Rivals. But Sony may be using this to pivot into eSports, one year after they sold EVO.
It goes without saying these are dubious aims knowing PlayStation’s history with Concord and Bungie. Perhaps they were too close to releasing MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls to cancel now, but Nishino may change his tune in the future.
