Cronos: The New Dawn is heading into the marketplace in September of this year. We are not far from it now. However, there are still plenty of questions we have about the game. One of those, fortunately, was recently answered. It turns out that the game will have a New Game Plus mode. On top of that, the developers offered just a little more insight into why you might be keen on replaying the campaign.
Bloober Team is quickly approaching the finish line. They are working through the last bits of the game to ensure Cronos: The New Dawn has a smooth launch. Today, a new report has surfaced that confirmed a few aspects of the game for players who strive to see everything this world has to offer.
Taking A Linear Approach

MP1ST recently had the chance to speak with Grzegorz Like and Jacek Zieba, the lead writer and lead narrative designer behind the upcoming horror game. During their conversation, it was unveiled that this is very much a linear horror gameplay experience. Although that wasn’t always the case.
Developers experimented with making it more open, but they found that keeping things linear is a better approach for the horror story. So, while you won’t get to explore endlessly, there will be some backtracking in levels if you want to finish everything up.
New Game Plus Mode Confirmed

The publication managed also to get confirmation of a New Game Plus mode, where the developers reveal that a higher difficulty option will be available. But beyond that, one replay value here is the souls you collect.
Apparently, when players collect souls, they will whisper things to you and even affect some of the context of the game. So, there could be a good reason to go back and replay the game just from that standpoint alone. However, that’s not all; it looks like dialogue options that will also affect what you see in the game.
We’re certainly interested in checking this game out. Coming off the Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team is no longer feeling like underdogs. Hopefully, this game solidifies that feeling. As for when you’ll be able to get your hands on the game, Cronos: The New Dawn is set to launch on September 5, 2025. When it does, you’ll find it available for the PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC platforms.
