Rumor: Bethesda Has Internal Trailers They Are “Demonstrating” Of The Elder Scrolls 6

June 30, 2025 by Ryan Parreno

Unfortunately we really may have to wait until the game is close to release to see it.

Jez Corden shared an interesting tidbit in the latest episode of the Xbox Two podcast.

Originally shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit by user xCosmicChaosx, we’ve transcribed the conversation between hosts Rand Al Thor 19 and Corden for you below.

Rand Al Thor 19: Elder Scrolls 6. I know people maybe bring that up to you cuz I think both me and you had it closing this year’s show at Showcase. Which, I guess, maybe looking back on it now was a bit foolish.

But hey, sometimes you got to go for those Hail Marys, right? You gotta line up and be like, ‘Hey man, what about Elder Scrolls 6 closing the show?’ Yeah, you know that would have been so cool. But instead they decided to close it with a Call of Duty game.

Jez Corden: Yeah. There’s a good reason why I thought maybe it was going to be there. And it was because that I’d heard there’d been internal trailers, and they’ve been demonstrating it internally.

So I’m kind of like, well, if they’re demonstrating early and I’m hearing about it, chances are that maybe it’s going further afield now, you know.

Corden isn’t sure how far along development of The Elder Scrolls 6 is, but it surely must be past the initial production phase if they’re already at the point where they are sharing trailers and even demos for the game. Fans did figure out that the game had entered full production at least last year, based on a LinkedIn profile of an employee.

Showing a trailer of some sort may not necessarily be a prelude to the game being released, as much as it would be Bethesda and Microsoft managing expectations by proving to fans that they are deep at work in the game. The apparent albatross around Bethesda’s and Todd Howard’s necks was Starfield, Bethesda’s big project that waited decades for the technology that could make it possible exist. While Starfield ended up ultimately with a mixed reception, it has its fans and it has made its mark in the space exploration genre. While Bethesda does have expansions and support planned for Starfield’s future, with the game released over a year ago, the studio definitely has the time and manpower to now work on The Elder Scrolls 6.

The question seems to remain on when Bethesda and Microsoft will finally reveal The Elder Scrolls 6 in any capacity. Honestly, it may be that we’ll simply have to wait until they’re close to ready to release it to see, since that’s how game marketing works nowadays. We do genuinely feel a small teaser will do wonders in keeping interest going, but then again, this is one of those franchises where the fans will show up no matter how long they have to wait.
