I'm not sure whether this says more about the average mentality of Youtube users or Mass Effect fans, but an upload of a gay "sex" scene from Mass Effect 3 has caused more than a little outrage last night and it has since been removed. At last mention, it seems the scene had just over 1300 dislikes and only a little under 300 likes. CVG, the site that originally uploaded the video, also seem to have removed the article that accompanied it.
In all fairness, I've not been able to find this specific scene since it seems to have come to popularity and since removed while I was sleeping. From what I've read, two men lying next to one another in boxers is about as explicit as it gets and some people not liking the video may have come from an apparent "roll in the hay" feel to the whole thing, an attitude that doesn't imply a meaningful relationship.
Either way, this is going to cause some controversy. The mainstream media will get a hold of it and run until their feet bleed, but so long as the whole thing is optional I don't see a problem. As one CVG user put it: "It isn't going to be: Mash triangle. Darnit you failed. Now you're a gay. Enjoy."
