We’re now less than a day away from the release of Bethesda’s Doom. In fact, pre-load has started since yesterday midnight on May 11th. For those who haven’t bought a copy of the game yet, this is now your last chance on reaping some solid pre-order deals for DOOM.
We should note that these discounts and bonuses are only valid while DOOM is a pre-order title, while select discount will remain, most of the freebies will be gone, including the bonuses on console offers listed below.
DOOM’s PC Steam Deals
If you’re a PC gamer pre-load as mentioned has already gone live on Steam. One retailer already handing out keys is GMG, where the price drops $15 after a 25% off coupon code. It’s the best discount before Friday’s launch plus GMG is also giving you a free copy of Doom 3: BFG Edition (a $19.99 game on Steam).
- Green Man Gaming — $45 Use coupon: DEALZON25
- Funstock Digital — $46.16 (list $60)
- DLGamer — $47.99 (list $60)
- Games Planet — £34.99 (list £39.99)
Note: If the DEALZON25 no longer works tomorrow, try code DEALZON20 for 20% off instead.
There’s another retailer on our list handing out a free copy of Doom 3: BFG Edition with your purchase of 2016 Doom. Funstock Digital is another worthy retailer offering about a 24% off discount to $46.14 at the time of writing. By default, they show a British Pound price, but if you use their drop down menu at the top of their page you can switch to either US Dollars or Euros.
Other notable retailers with discounts are GamesPlanet and DLGamer. The France-based DLGamer is showing a 20% discount while GamesPlanet is about 13% off for those in the UK. Buying worldwide from GamesPlanet is perfectly fine, but they only show a British pound price (currency conversion is about $50.52 at the time of writing).
DOOM’s Xbox One and PS4 Deals
Console pre-order video games rarely come with discounts. If you’re a paid member of Amazon Prime ($99 a year) or Best Buy’s Gamers Club Unlocked ($30 for 2-years) you will get a 20% discount, but even if you’re too cheap for those programs there are still bonus offers to catch.
- Dell Home (Xbox One, PS4) — $59.99 + $25 eGift Card
- Microsoft Store (Xbox One Only) — $59.99 + $10 Xbox Gift Card
- Best Buy w/ Gamers Club Unlocked Membership — $47.99 + $10 Rewards
Going strictly by the numbers, Dell Home is the best offer anywhere. A huge $25 Gift Card bonus is yours if you pre-order through Dell and arrives 10-20 days after your game is shipped. Speaking of shipping options, Next Day shipping is free at Dell (would normally cost an extra $21.99). Lastly, we should mention that in order to get the $25 eGift Card you’ll need to be a Dell Advantage Rewards member, but you can sign up for free here.
If you buy games on the Xbox Store quite a bit, Microsoft is a good retailer to buy from. Pre-ordering there gets you a $10 Gift Card redeemable on Xbox Live.
Last but not least is Best Buy, where “My Best Buy” rewards members get a bonus $10 in points to spend. If you happen to be a Gamers Club Unlocked member, you’ll not only get the 20% discount to $47.99 but also the same $10 in rewards points.
As you can see, discount-wise the best platform to buy Doom on is PC. The bonuses though are still attractive enough at certain retailers for console gamers (a $25 gift card effectively makes Doom a $35 purchase).
Disclosure: Gameranx may receive a small cut from every transaction above.
