The Event Viewing Experience (EVE) will launch during the MLG Anaheim Open, a two-day Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 tournament beginning on June 10th. This will also mark the launch date for MLG.tv’s live broadcasts through Facebook.

EVE was announced during the Digital Content NewFronts event in New York today and acts as an HD video stream featuring an algorithmic feed of match statistics, real-time leaderboards, and information based on the event viewers are watching.

“eSports is an exciting space and continues to be a growing priority for us,” Dan Reed, Facebook’s head of global sports partnerships, commented in a press release. “With over 1.6 billion people on the platform and a growing suite of VOD and live-streaming products that partners can use to increase engagement, Facebook is uniquely positioned to help eSports fans connect around exciting moments and great eSports content.”

Activision acquired Major League Gaming in January and the new service will feature a daily ESR broadcast from retired pro gamer Chris Puckett featuring interviews, highlights, and new segments in relation to eSports.

“We’re building a network dedicated to the thrill of competition and the passion of the fans,” Steve Bornstein, chairman of Activision Blizzard Media Networks, said. “MLG.tv will play a defining role in realizing the full potential of this audience by creating meaningful, memorable and shareable content.”

Activision Blizzard Media Networks launched last October.

The eSports market is projected to grow from $463 million this year to $1.1 billion in 2019 according to NewZoo, a research firm.
