Silent Hill fans are waiting for the next chapter to be released. For franchise fans, it’s been a long time since the IP had any glimmer of hope. But that changed a few years ago when Konami finally decided to bring this series back into the limelight. We had new installments confirmed to be in the works, one of which is a brand new entry that would be set as the next mainline game for the series, Silent Hill F.
We don’t know much about this next game. Silent Hill F only had one trailer, and we’ll see the game take place in a new setting. Rather than taking place in the town of Silent Hill, we will venture into rural 1960s Japan. Beyond that, we’re left waiting for more information to be dropped. Of course, this won’t be the only game to take place outside of the actual town of Silent Hill, despite the game’s name of the titular town.
At any rate, fans might soon get some new information about this game. Thanks to Gematsu, we’re finding out that both Silent Hill F and Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 were both rated in South Korea. As a result, fans could start seeing more marketing materials come out to hype up both games’ upcoming releases.
We know there is a strong following for both franchises. Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 had quite a troublesome development cycle. Meanwhile, Silent Hill fans are coming off a very well-received remake of Silent Hill 2. So now the question is if this next mainline game will also have as much success. Unfortunately, all we can do is wait and see when Konami decides to drop the next trailer along with Paradox Interactive with Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2. Hopefully both will offer insight into the release dates.
