There is quite a bit of anticipation over the next Assassin’s Creed installment. While Ubisoft’s future is uncertain, as we already reported on a potential buyout, the Assassin’s Creed franchise is one of Ubisoft’s strongest IPs. We’re waiting to get our hands on the next game, but to help hype up the upcoming launch, Ubisoft dropped a new blog post highlighting some of the combat aspects we can expect from Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Ubisoft has slowly been uncovering more about Assassin’s Creed Shadows. More specifically, they have been highlighting more about the gameplay components players can experience. Last week, Ubisoft took to its blog to highlight some of the stealth gameplay that would be featured in this installment. Now, this week, we’re getting a small breakdown of the combat.
Fortunately, one YouTube channel, JorRaptor, has compiled all of the small clips from the blog post into a single video. So you can view the entire combat breakdown showcased in the blog below. It’s a great visual representation of the gameplay, but if you want some additional breakdowns for each featured clip, then you can find some comments made by the game director on the official Ubisoft blog post.
Overall, there is quite a bit of variation in combat. It depends not only on the character you’re playing but also on the weapons you have equipped. So, you can expect various light, heavy, and posture attacks. The same can be said about your dodges, parry, and blocks.
Likewise, as you progress through the game, you’ll learn new skills and abilities to add to that combat repertoire. So, while this video will highlight a few aspects of the combat gameplay in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there are bound to be more combat moves and abilities for players to uncover themselves.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to launch on February 14, 2025. When the game releases, you’ll find it available for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
