Battalion 1944 producer Joe Brammer has said that he’s seen “Battlefield 5 things” and is “beyond excited” in a tweet that has since been deleted.
The tweet was screen capped by NeoGAF.
A flood of questions from fans followed, leading Brammer to delete the tweet commenting, “My phone, apple watch, and desktop notifications were all going crazy, and you ask too many questions! Tweet gone ha…clearly a mistake on my part! A massive oversight on the desperation for squeezing information!”
Not only has he seen something connected to Battlefield 5, his comments could be seen as lending further credence to rumours that the game will be set during one of the World Wars. Brammer is, after a specialist on the Second World War, as executive producer on Battalion 1944.
In March, a Swiss retailer listed Battlefield 5 as a “multiplayer tactical shooter” set during World War 1. The game is supposedly launching on October 26th on PC, PS4, Xbox One. Following Battlefield Hardlines cops-vs-robbers setting, EA CFO Blake said in 2014 that Battlefield 5 will be “a return to a Battlefield military-style game.”
DICE began shifting attention to the game, which will presumably be released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, in December of last year.
