If you wanted to take your Dark Souls video game to the tabletop, it looks like you may be able to get that chance after Steamforged Games announced a partnership with Bandai Namco Entertainment. The news came in the form of a post on Steamforged Games website as it alerted its fans along with gamers who enjoyed the Dark Souls franchise, to keep an eye out for a Kickstarter campaign soon which will bring out a tabletop version of the FromSoftware hit, Dark Souls.
Not much is known quite yet about what we can expect from the tabletop version of Dark Souls by Steamforged Games. All we know as of right now is that Steamforged Games announced a partnership with Bandai Namco Entertainment in which they will be given the opportunity to create a Dark Souls based board game.
The post reads as follows:
Steamforged Games is proud to announce we will be working with Bandai Namco Entertainment, developing an exciting board game for the Dark Souls universe.
As Dark Souls fans, we could not be more excited to be given the honour of developing a board game that embraces everything that makes Dark Souls the deep, compelling game experience that it is.
The Dark Souls board game will be launched on Kickstarter during April 2016.
Unfortunately, we don’t know a specific date quite yet on when we can pledge any money to this campaign. Regardless, this is not the only board game that was announced recently. Bloodborne is also receiving a board game from Eric Lang, a card game and board game designer who has previously brought out Blood Rage, XCOM: The Board Game, and Warhammer 40K Conquest.
If you’re interested at all with the upcoming Dark Souls board game, we suggest keeping an eye on Steamforged Games for when they announce the launch of their Kickstarter campaign.
