Baldur’s Gate 3 is finally out of PC Early Access and has had a successful launch on that platform. We say successful, but we also fear we aren’t doing the game justice with such faint praise. Record-breaking, genre-defining, and industry-moving could all be valid praise, which is exciting for returning fans and newcomers, to say the least.
Not only that, but the game is trundling through time and space at a steady pace and should land on PS5 in September. This secondary launch is bound to go over well considering how remarkable the game has been on PC. There is one obvious omission to this list of platforms, however. This begs the question; Is Baldur’s Gate 3 coming to Xbox?

Is Baldur’s Gate 3 Coming To Xbox
Let’s get this out of the way now – yes, Baldur’s Gate 3 is making its way to Game Pass. However, things are not quite so cut and dry. Unlike the PS5, there is no confirmed release date. The game is in limbo due to a myriad of technical difficulties getting the game to run on the platform.
In general, this has been rumoured to be due to the comparative weakness of the Xbox Series S and getting split-screen to work on the ailing hardware. Regardless, as of writing, the game is on its way, we just don’t know when.
Will It Be On Xbox Game Pass?
This then leads to the second most asked question – will it be on Xbox Game Pass? There has been no confirmation of Game Pass support from Larian Studios, however, if we were to speculate, it’s unlikely based on the current state of PC Game Pass. It’s not on Game Pass yet at the peak of Baldur’s Gate 3’s relevance, so there is a real chance it won’t launch on Game Pass on Xbox when it eventually launches.
Of course, this is not confirmed and there is every chance Larian Studios will announce Game Pass support, and if they do, we will update this article to represent that. Until then, however, it’s just a waiting game. If critical reception is to be believed, it’s a waiting game worth playing too.
