Wasn’t expecting that.

There are a lot of mechanics for players to keep track of in Street Fighter 6. While the game is perhaps the most approachable entry for newcomers that the series has seen in a long time, there are still some things that might be seen as a little obtuse or hard to nail down. Luckily, Street Fighter 6 offers a lot of great tutorials that get pretty granular with things like the Frame Tracker that’s found in the practice mode.

The World Tour mode in Street Fighter 6 pushes players to experiment with its various objectives, however, some objectives aren’t given proper explanations. One early objective tasks players to “Use Pressure Time” without really saying what that is or, perhaps more importantly, how to “use” it.

Here’s everything you need to know about Pressure Time in Street Fighter 6 and how to use it to gain the upper hand in a fight.

What is Pressure Time?

Pressure Time is pretty simple to understand. Essentially, when a regular enemy is getting ready to do a move, they’ll very briefly get a white outline that surrounds their silhouette. Depending on what character you’re fighting, this can be during any number of moves from blocks to offensive attacks and occur at any point before or after the move starts its animation.

When explained like that, Pressure Time sounds extremely vague, which makes it hard to nail down for newcomers, however, when keeping an eye out for it, you’ll eventually be able to start identifying when it occurs. Because the white outline flashes so briefly, it can also be hard to see when mixed in with the rest of the vibrant flashing colors of Street Fighter 6, but keep looking for it and you’ll eventually find it.

How to “Use Pressure Time”

The way that the World Tour objective phrases “Use Pressure Time” is a little misleading since, as described above, Pressure Time isn’t something you use like the Drive System. Instead, it’s something your enemy does that needs to be taken advantage of. The flash of white gives you a window that, if you can attack during, will stun opponents and give you the chance to begin punishing combos with.

Essentially, to “Use Pressure Time,” attack opponents in World Tour when they flash white. When it comes to real fights, you won’t get the flash of white that highlights when an opponent is vulnerable, however, since a lot of the moves that opponents use in World Tour are lifted from the playable character’s move sets, you’ll be able to use the knowledge of when to attack.
