Redfall will have you doing all kinds of soul-crushingly mundane tasks whenever you potter around your primary hub for too long. Whether you are finding candles, or going shopping, there is always something tedious to complete to gain a drop of EXP. Reaching Burial Point and getting acquainted with Lawrence Tran unlocks the joys of birdwatching.
Well, that’s not entirely true. It unlocks the joys of doing another by-the-numbers fetch quest with a predictable “whoops, it’s not here” middle part to painfully extend its runtime. This guide will walk you through everything you need to do to complete ‘ Birdwatcher’. Let’s dive right in.

How To Start Birdwatcher
Once you have done a couple of main missions in and around Burial Point, you will start to unlock side missions at the Maritime Centre. One of the first ones you will gain access to is ‘Birdwatcher’ courtesy of Nurse Tran.
Lawrence wants you to head out into Burial Point and track down a book. He marks your map, and it’s up to you to find and return it. It’s a standard fetch quest.
Locating The Book House
Lawrence thinks the book is in a Book House to the north of the Maritime Centre. If you have unlocked any Historic Locations or Safehouses that are closer, feel free to fast travel to save time. Otherwise, head out of the Maritime Centre and make your way north. It’s not far.
Unfortunately, once you get there, the Book House is empty.
Breaking And Entering
To find the book, you are going to need to find clues on its whereabouts. Luckily, there is a clue nearby. If you head right around the building, you will find some stairs. Head up these stairs, break the barricade, and then enter the shop.
Tucked away at the back of the room on a table is a list. Read the list to find out that a cultist has taken Lawrence’s book to Brighton Bridge.
Brighton Bridge
With a new destination revealed, it’s time to collect the book and return to Lawrence. Brighton Bridge is southwest of your current location. Beware of clusters of vampires on your way, as we bumped into several groups of three that were not happy to see us. We recommend keeping a Medusa on hand – just in case.
Finding The Book
Once you are at Brighton Bridge, cross the bridge whilst keeping to the right. You will see some scaffolding which you can jump onto. Continue along the scaffolding and look down. You should see the book below you.
The drop is quite far, but it is not lethal. As long as you have 250 HP to spare, you will live. Hop down, grab the book, and you are ready to return to Lawrence.
Quest Rewards
With the book in hand, fast travel back to the Maritime Centre and talk to Lawrence. He will thank you for your efforts, reward you with 800 EXP and unlock a second quest, Dr Young’s Projects. We’ll be covering that quest in a separate guide, however.
