Don’t Starve will officially receive its next expansion at the end of this month, March 31, 2016. This will bring players new characters, biomes, creatures, and even some additional seasonal effects. For some gamers, they’ve already got a taste of what Shipwrecked offers in Don’t Starve as the game originally was available for players as an early access title on Steam.
Developers Klei Entertainment created Don’t Starve with inspirations of filmmaker Tim Burton and the video game title Minecraft. Essentially, within the game, players take on the role of a scientist named Wilson who finds himself in a dreary world filled with a variety of enemies that seek to kill him. It’s up to the players to prevent Wilson from dying off and help keep track of his health, hunger, and mental stability.
Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked will be the fourth expansion to release for the title. The expansion was under the care of both developers Klei Entertainment and CAPY, creators of Super Time Force and Below. Within the expansion, Wilson becomes stranded on a tropical archipelago leaving him to survive in a whole new environment filled with biomes, seasons, and creatures. However, while the setting has changed, Shipwrecked still embodies the same gameplay we’d come to expect with Don’t Starve. Gamers will have to keep a keen eye on the various aspects of Wilson’s hunger, health, and mental stability.
Once again, players are able to enjoy the latest expansion of Shipwrecked at the end of the month, March 31, 2016, for the PC though it will require the original Don’t Starve video game.
