Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake lets you dress up Spongebob in classic costumes from throughout the series. There are some deep pulls along with fan-favorites. Most are relatively easy to unlock. As you progress through the game unlocking Gold Doubloons, you’ll unlock tiers of costumes available straight from your main menu shop. You can buy costumes with jelly you’ve collected as currency. The costumes only cost about 500~ each, so by the end of your playthrough you’ll be swimming in jelly. There are only two costumes you can’t earn this way.
The Flying Dutchman and Rainbowbob costumes are only available by completing side-quests. These can be pretty tricky too. One of the quests sends Spongebob to locate trick-or-treaters wearing Flying Dutchman costumes, and they’re surprisingly tough to find. If you don’t want to search the entire level for ours like us, you can jump directly to their locations listed below with screenshots to make your quest a lot easier.

How To Unlock The Flying Dutchman Costume
Return to Kandyville — in Halloween Rock Bottom – after completing the level and you’ll find the Flying Dutchman. He’ll send you on a quest to replace all the costumes of Trick or Treaters wearing Flying Dutchmen costumes. There are three fake Dutchmenn. Talk to them to replace their costumes.
- Dutchman #1: Kandyville – Behind a floating house on the right side of town. Reach the upper level and find a house connected to a walkway — a blonde fishlady is standing at the walkway junction. A fake Dutchman is behind the house in a tricky location.
- Dutchman #2: Shadow Theater – Follow the powerline to the right of the Shadow Theater. Climbing through a pipe, look left as you exit to find this tricky hidden Dutchman costume.
- Dutchman #3: Rock Bottom Museum – One is located in the Museum, beneath the entrance as you go inside. Look behind the painting.
How To Unlock The Rainbowbob Costume
Return to Jelly Glove World after completing the last level — and the entire game. Starting at the Entrance, you’ll find Glovey. Talk to him after completing two of the challenges in the park. You’ll need to complete the Karate Kick Balloon Challenge and the Test of Strength. After completing both, talk to Glovey and he’ll challenge you to even-more-difficult versions of the mini-games. To activate the harder versions, talk to the NPC near the activity.
- Mini-game #1: Glove World Entrance – After completing the level, return and talk to Glovey near the entrance. He’ll mark activities around the park to complete. One of the new activities is a harder version of Whack-A-Glove. Hit 30 balloons in a minute to earn a doubloon.
- Mini-game #2: Central Plaza – The second activity is the Strong Glove mini-game. Go talk to the fish and complete this trickier challenge. Compared to the previous challenge, this one is easy.
Return to Glovey after finishing these two challenges to earn the Rainbow Sponge costume!
