Check it out, Kingdom Come: Deliverance fans. Warhorse Studios just dropped a brand new development diary video update for your enjoyment. If you’re into the historical aspects of the game, this one will be particularly interesting for you as it goes into detail about how they developed realistic in-game combat.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance takes place in a 15th century Bohemian medieval Kingdom. Warhorse has been adamant throughout the process about making the game as historically accurate as possible and is detailing their journey for the benefit of the many Kickstarter backers who made their campaign a success. Unfortunately, it seems to be taking a while to actually put out the game.
As Eurogamer reported last week, there’s a chance the game may be delayed due to publisher-distributor negotiations. A PR manager representing the game claimed that the team was still targeting a summer release date, however, so don’t get too crestfallen just yet. The issue with Kingdom Come: Deliverance is that Warhorse wants to simultaneously put out the game for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but in Warhorse’s case, the PC version of the game is more complete than the console versions.
Distribution is notoriously tough for independent studios, as CD Projekt Red learned with The Witcher 3. With so many investors to appease, it is no surprise that Warhorse is struggling to keep everyone happy.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance will premiere this summer, although a specific release date has not been announced, and will be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
