Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 may have been released to loud fanfare and positive reviews, but the release isn’t without its own set of problems.
The Call of Duty: Elite servers have apparently buckled under the stress of the game’s massive, and unprecedented launch, forcing many players offline in their attempts to connect to the service. Many others were unable to log in.
“We are aware of the issue,” the Call of Duty Elite twitter account posted. “Surge of new Elite registrations is creating reg & login issues. Teams are working now to increase capacity.”
The Twitter account attempted to placate player fears that their stats would not be logged during this period. “Service is capturing all MW3 gameplay data. Data, heatmaps, and activity will be waiting for you upon registration.”
If you’re one of the millions of players who picked up Modern Warfare 3, you’ll have to wait a while yet for them to fix all the issues. Given the fact that Activision is banking on the success of Call of Duty: Elite to retain players, I wouldn’t be too worried about it. It’ll be fixed sooner rather than later.
