Something big is going on with the Dynasty Warriors series this year. Developer Koei Tecmo has apologized that plans to announce something big last year fell through, and say they plan to make up for it soon. The developer states that they intend to reveal something big really soon.
The developer published a short post on its official website. Gematsu translates:
"Last year, we welcomed the fifteenth anniversary of the Dynasty Warriors series, and we were not able to deliver the news fans were expecting," producer Akihiro Suzuki said. "For that, we are very sorry."
"This year, we’re preparing to be able to make a big announcement, so please look forward to it," he said.
The last main title in the series was Dynasty Warriors 8, which came out in 2013. Since then, the studio has worked on expansion packs for Hyrule Warriors, it's Zelda-themed spinoff for the Wii U. A 3DS version is set for release this month in Japan, followed by North America and Europe in March.
