Techland is developing an improved version of Dying Light as a free update for all of the game's owners in the form of the Enhanced Edition. It's slated for release next year and also includes the game's pre-existing DLCs and its upcoming expansion pack, The Following.
Players will be able to enjoy Dying Light with the Bozak Horde and Be The Zombie modes, experience the Cuisine & Cargo challenge missions, and play with all the additional weapons they released in the Ultimate Survivor Bundle.
The enhances include new graphics, better AI, and more parkour moves. The game will be qualitatively better to the original release, according to the developers who released a trailer announcing it today.
"We didn't want to follow a beaten track and just re-release our game in a new wrapping with the current DLC added on," lead game designer Maciej Binkowski wrote. "That's why for the last half year we've been working on a ton of enhancements that we're now going to make available to everyone. We're adding bonus post-game content, a Nightmare difficulty level, nearly 100 new animations, new NPC models, advanced AI behaviors, and more. One year after the original release, Dying Light will be even bigger."
The Dying Light Enhanced Edition will be out on February 6, 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Following will also be released a day later as a separate download for anyone with the DLC season pass for the original game, which we reviewed here.
