Were you unsure if you were supposed to look forward toResident Evil 2 Remake? Worry no longer.
Addressing recent concerns, Capcom UK's senior marketing director Stuart Turner reaffirmed that the game will be a complete remake, and not just a remaster.
Seems to be a few people picking up a mistranslation in our own investor report. RE2 will be a full from the ground up remake NOT a remaster

The game was announced as a remake last August, although details remain scanty on the project at this time.
Resident Evil 2 is a landmark game in the series, and also one of the most highly acclaimed. Produced by Shinji Mikami and directed by Hideki Kamiya, it placed a huge focus on story, presentation, exploration, puzzles, and combat.
Thanks to its stellar atmosphere and graphics, it received wide critical acclaim, and enjoys the distinction of being the Resident Evil’s single most successful title on a single platform, namely the one it launched on, the PlayStation.
Resident Evil 2 is the basis of much of Resident Evil lore. It’s also received numerous remakes already, including on Windows, Nintendo 64, GameCube, Dreamcast, and even Game.com. While it is available on the PlayStation 3 as an emulation of the PlayStation version, the upcoming remake promises to be so much more.
