Do you love your OG Pokemon? How about your Amazon? Today, you can bring the two together.
Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow for Nintendo 3DS are now available for preorder on the Amazon site. Each game is worth $ 9.99. You can preorder on these links:
While the US isn’t getting the special edition in Japan, that bundles a code with several physical items, Nintendo did emulate Link Cable support for all three. It’s still emulation, however, so you will only be able to battle other players and trade Pokemon locally, and not online. Because of how 3DS accounts work, you won’t be able to trade your Pokemon between them if you buy the different versions. There also won’t be any Pokemon Bank support.
Of course, it may be too much to expect this many features for what is not a remake, but a rerelease of the original US Pokemon games. Originally released in 1998, these games established the conventions of the Pokemon franchise, and canonized the original 151 Pokemon.
Between defeating the Eight Gym leaders, the Elite Four, or completing the Pokedex, there will be no lack of gaming and nostalgia on offer. You can expect to spend between 27 to 50 hours just finishing the main story, and over 100 for a full completist run. You can always go for a Nuzlocke run, too, of course, and we still don’t know if Mew will be in the games, and how to get her.
