Steam is a great service. This is what I tell my girlfriend every day when I sink us further into debt as a result of Steam’s deal of the day. “We should THANK them,” I shout, as she marches out of the house in a tear-soaked rage. Is it any wonder that so many people were upset that Battlefield 3 was going to be exclusive to EA’s own digital distribution network, Origin?
Well that may no longer be the case. According to BF3blog, who say they’ve received an anonymous report from inside Valve, the two publishers may be coming to an understanding.
“EA and Valve are very close to reaching an agreement regarding sales of DLC content,” or so the report says, “(that’s) the main reason Battlefield 3 is not on Steam: Valve requires that all DLC is sold through Steam, while EA would prefer to sell via its own channels.”
