It seems like everything’s returning to 3DS today. Nintendo announced earlier that the Fire Emblem series is among them. The new 3DS version will be called Fire Emblem Fates and will allow you to play one of two modes: “Birthright” or “Conquest.” Once you finish one version, you can play the other one at a reduced cost. Additionally, Nintendo teased a third story, “Revelation,” that will be coming soon as well.

Naturally, all three versions will be bundled in a Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition which includes all three games, an art book, and a themed 3DS XL pouch. There were no concrete details on a release date.
As previously reported, Fire Emblem Fates was recently the source of much attention and criticism when it was revealed that one of the game’s female characters is only romanceable by a male protagonist despite some indication of having romantic feelings for women.
