Unite 2015 brings some interesting PlayStation VR news from Sony. Ramm Madhavan discussed some of the VR technology's shortcomings in his Embrace Virtual Reality presentation, like latency and visual glitches associated with reprojection. The presentation also includes a glimpse of PSVR's optics, which will attempt to match human eyesight by focusing on the center of the field of view and blurring the peripherals.
The biggest announcement of the presentation, however, was that the PSVR would come with an external processing unit to offload strain on the PS4. There has been mounting doubt within the gaming community that consoles can handle VR, and the external unit seems to be PlayStation's response.
Another concern for gamers is how socially involved VR games will be. The presentation indicates that players in the room will still be able to participate in the VR player's experience, though their perspectives will differ.
While all of this news is exciting, Sony has yet to announce the most important information: the PSVR's release date and pricing.
