Valve's new Steam Link streaming device and the Steam Controller are not compatible with Mac systems, gamers have reported. Valve has acknowledged the issue and is sending out free game packs to anyone affected by the issue.
Steam Link has been in development for some time and will be available to the general public on November 10, Valve has announced. Further details about the device can be found here.
According to PCGamesN, Valve is sending out apologies to Mac gamers who purchased both devices and that the compatibility problems will be fixed in the coming weeks.
At the present, neither Steam Link or Steam Controller work on Mac systems as advertised.
"We want to apologise for the delays in providing full functionality for the Mac platform," reads the e-mail from Valve. "We're doing everything we can to resolve the issues. For the latest fixes and functionality, we recommend that you opt in to the Steam client beta."
Valve has offered the Valve Complete Pack to all affected customers, which includes access to every single Valve title free of charge. This even includes games that have yet to be released.
Should customers decide to ask for a refund, they will still get to keep the game pack. Valve is allowing gamers up to 60 days to ask for a refund.
