Fall Guys will be adopting a new free-to-play model and is going to be headed to the Xbox and Nintendo Switch as of June 21st. The popular knockout battle royale title will be free for all players on all platforms, and alongside this news comes an update from Mediatonic on the game’s PlayStation version. Fall Guys will be getting a new version, especially for PlayStation 5 gamers, which will go live on June 21st at the same time as the game gets its launch for Xbox and Switch.
The new version of Fall Guys for PlayStation 5 promises faster load times and performance upgrades to suit next-gen console gaming. This means that the game should run on PS5 at 60 FPS and with 4K resolution. In addition to this, Xbox One gamers can expect 30 FPS and 1080p resolution and Xbox One X can expect 60 FPS and 1080p resolution. Owners of an Xbox Series S should see the game running at 60 FPS and 1440p resolution and those on Xbox Series X can expect to see 60 FPS and 2160p resolution.
For the Nintendo Switch, players can expect 30 FPS and 720p in handheld mode and 30 FPS and 1080p in docked mode. PlayStation 4 players can still run the game as usual and will still be able to download updates, patches and new content as normal.
Additionally, a new PC version of the game will be available on the Epic Games Store on June 21st. It’s been confirmed that cross-progression and full cross-play will be supported across all versions and platforms. The Epic Store version comes after Mediatonic was acquired by Epic Games back in 2021, but those who previously played the game on Steam will still be able to do so. New players, however, will need to obtain and download the game from the Epic Store going forward.
