Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has been on physical and virtual store shelves for less than 72 hours, but that won’t stop the internet from doing what it does best and inserting today’s popular meme into everything.
Enter: A helicopter providing air support in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain while blasting John Cena’s signature tune (you know the one) on repeat.
This video was upload yesterday, meaning YouTube user Verbose Toast wasted no time getting this recorded and uploaded because, as all users of the internet know, the shelf life of an internet meme is only as long as the internet’s collective patience and attention span.
Just yesterday, Konami released this video of game director Hideo Kojima interviewing people who worked on the game and other notable industry folks like Geoff Keighly of The Game Awards and Greg Miller of Kinda Funny. It is intercut with narration from Kojima and, if the tone is anything to go by, The Phantom Pain may be Kojima’s last Metal Gear game. Warning: grab some tissues before you hit play on that one.
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain was finally released to the masses on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015. Critics love it and so do its fans.
