DICE have explained Supremacy mode for Star Wars Battlefront, and how much they put into it from Conquest mode from their Battlefieldseries.
Supremacy is all out intense multiplayer from start to finish. Scattered across five of the biggest maps in the game are five control points. The match starts with each side controlling two of these points, and everyone’s goal is to take all or most of these points in ten minute rounds.
So, after the initial round, each control point needs to be claimed in a set order. As a result, there will always be action surrounding two control points at any one time.
In Supremacy, all the soldiers, weapons, vehicles, Heroes, and Villains are available to use. The frontline is guaranteed to always be filled with action, and the checkpoints system assures that camping is never going to be a practical strategy. Whether you play offense or defense, there will always be enemies to contend with.
Judicious use of the vehicles and Heroes and Villains could make the difference between victory and defeat. The good thing is in this mode, each Hero or Villain can shine using their best abilities. For example, Luke and Boba are great for moving around quickly to turn the tide of battle. On the other hand, Vader is more of a defensive character, and since he has a larger life, he is best used to secure control points.
Supremacy also offers an improvement over Conquest. You will always spawn close to the action, compelling players to fight no matter what.
Star Wars Battlefront will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows on November 17, 2015.
