With the release of Destiny: The Taken King, a Guardian’s vault space will double, Bungie revealed in a livestream today.
To be clear, the weapon space in a Guardian’s vault will double. The armor end of the vault will actually more than double to 72 slots.
Increasing the size of the vault in Destiny has been asked for by players for a very long time, but has usually been met statements from developer Bungie saying it is something they are looking into. Come Sept. 15 that wish will be granted.
During the livestream, Bungie also went over more specifics on how a Guardian’s overall level and its Light rating will be changing in The Taken King. Light will no longer be a rating on the four types of armor in currently in the game. Instead, a Light rating will be assigned to your Guardian as an average of your Guardians total attack and defense ratings. Additionally, the new overall level cap will be 40.
Other topics were also discussed, like how Vanguard and Crucible marks will be combined into a single new currency.
Destiny: The Taken King will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on Sept. 15.
