There are all sorts of games out there for you to enjoy, but for a certain sect of games, there is a joy in being chased by the police. And sometimes, you’re the police doing the chasing! What’s more, there are times when the creativity behind this act shines, so allow us to show you the 10 Best Xbox One Police Car Chasing Games!
#10 Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition
We’ll start out with the all-time classic, Grand Theft Auto.
Because this is a game where it’s almost your job to get chased by the police at some points. After all, you are a criminal in these games, and the various acts that you do will get the attention of the cops, and thus you have to evade them…or you just go and take them out, this is Grand Theft Auto after all.
The original trilogy of GTA had police chases galore, so if you’re wanting to relive some of those “glory days” then you can play these.
…or, you could TRY and play them…as they may be a buggy mess…
#9 Watch Dogs Legion
The Watch Dogs franchise has often been about taking advantage of technology and using it to overthrow the powers that be.
Watch Dogs Legion takes that to the next possible level by putting you in the UK during a futuristic police state and having you be part of an underground movement trying to take it down. You can play as literally anyone on the street, as you will recruit people with skills to help your cause.
But of course, part of being in a police state is that the police are everywhere. And so you have to be mindful of who you choose for what mission. Because if they get taken out…they’re gone.
So use your legion well and see if you can bring true peace back to your home.
#8 Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
The Need For Speed games have often been about…well…speed. And how you use it to get things done. With Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, the thrill is literally in the chase on both ends of the spectrum.
You’ll be able to choose between being an outlaw, or being a cop. If you’re the former, you’ll race across the various roads and highways to try and evade the cops. Or, if you’re a police officer, you’ll use your vehicles and various tactics available to you to try and stop the lawbreakers from getting away.
Add to that, there’s a multiplayer component here that will give you not just opponents, but challenges as you race. Which side will you be on in this pursuit?
#7 The Crew 2
At first, The Crew 2 may not seem like it’s a good match for this list, but given the freedom you have to do just about anything that you want…it does fit in its own way.
The whole point of the game in many ways is to give racers a literal nation to go and drive around in, with various vehicles and avenues that you can go and take. Including taking things on the road, off road, or in the air and on the water!
You’ll be joining up with various families to craft the legacy you want to be, and we’re sure there’s a cop car or two within the game that you can either drive or have to be careful around. So go nuts!
#6 L.A. Noire
As we noted in the intro, the variety of games out there have led to creative twists on certain gameplay mechanics. In L.A. Noire for example, you’re not getting chased by cops, you are the cop. Or in this case, you’re a detective. One who must look for clues in order to solve a set of cases, and that means chasing down the bad guys in order for justice to be done.
This is easily one of Rockstar Games’ most unique titles, and you’ll have to be clever to get people to cooperate with you, and to figure out what truly happened in the cases assigned to you. So what do you think? Think you can handle being a detective?
#5 Forza Horizon 4
The Forza Horizon series was built upon the concept of giving players a wide world to drive in, and having all sorts of vehicles and ways that they can drive in it. Forza Horizon 4, which came out last year, at the time had the biggest expansion of this by giving players not just 450 cars to choose and modify, but a vast open-world that they could go and run around in.
And we do mean that as players are put in a version of Britain where they can drive, do stunt racing, go on trips with friends and more. It’s meant to be an open-ended and relaxing experience.
So…where’s the car chases? That would be with the online community. They are known to play games with one another, including some players being cops that pull over speeders. So clever.
#4 Burnout Paradise Remastered
Burnout wasn’t just a racing game, it was one that allowed fans to go and just tear things up as a driver by letting them skyrocket their rides into anything they wanted and see the beautiful destruction that it caused.
Burnout Paradise Remastered is the ultimate version of that, as you’ll have the massive expanse that is Paradise City for you to race around in without issue or restriction. You’ll rule, and ruin, the streets as you drive and it’ll feel like a blur as you slam the accelerator down.
The remastered version also gives you all the updates from the DLC and beyond, including an online game mode appropriately titled…Cops and Robbers.
#3 Forza Horizon 5
We already showed you one Horizon game, so what does Forza Horizon 5 add to the action? That would be a vast expanse that you know as Mexico, as well as some of the most beautiful racing graphics you’re ever going to see.
The game promises “limitless” action as you drive around both by yourself and with friends in hundreds of cars as you race around the Mexican landscape in pursuit of your next big thrill.
And like before, you can team up with various players online to create and partake in various challenges like getting away from a “cop player”. So why not bask in the fun?
#2 Grand Theft Auto IV
One of the most respected games ever made (a very ironic statement we grant you), Grand Theft Auto IV puts you in the role of Niko Bellic. A man who was just trying to escape his old life and start a new one. But when things immediately go wrong in Liberty City, he’s going to have to fight for survival, respect, and more.
The game, like the previous GTA titles, will have you going up against a lot of forces in order to survive, and that includes the cops. You’ll need to keep your trigger finger ready for all that’s about to go down.
And with two expansive DLCs for you to tangle with as well, you’ll have plenty of reasons to be chased by police, and others.
#1 Grand Theft Auto V
We could very easily talk about the grandness of Grand Theft Auto V and how its story brings three very different people together to try and survive in a city full of crime. But that honestly speaks for itself.
Grand Theft Auto V is the largest GTA game ever not just because of the main game, but because of the GTA Online section that players are STILL having a ton of fun with this to this day. It offers legions of content for you and is constantly updating. As well as offers true freedom on what you can do and what you can do with others. And yes, that includes police chases, that should’ve been obvious by this point.
