Sony has confirmed the recently leaked 'Vote to Play' feature for PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection titles.
The PlayStation Blog states that Vote to Play will allow PS Plus subscribers to vote on "one of several" PS4 games for the following month's Instant Game Collection lineup. Whichever games earns the most votes will be available for free, while the other titles will be offered at a discount.
Sony doesn't provide an exact release but states that the feature will be available in the near future and adds, "We’ll have more details for you soon on when voting begins, what titles will be up for voting, and how you can cast your vote."
The EU PlayStation Blog adds, "To be clear, Vote to Play will not be a monthly feature, but will take place at regular intervals throughout the year. We love to listen to our members – and we’re really excited to launch this new exclusive feature. We hope you enjoy it!"
We may hear about it at gamescom next week, though Sony is not hosting a press conference at the annual convention this year.
While the Instant Game Collection offers titles on PS3 and PS Vita in addition to PS4, Vote to Play appears to be exclusive to PS4. Some IGC games are cross-platform, however, and some of the titles available to vote may be as well.
