Devil’s Third: Itagaki Holds Impromptu Facebook Q&A, Confirms He Will Bring Game To The US

June 27, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Some outlets have interpreted this to mean he is publishing the game, but he may only be referring to owning the IP.

Tomonobu Itagaki addressed fans anew regarding Devil’s Third on his Facebook page. This time, knowing many fans have had unaddressed questions, he took questions live from fans, granted that these did not break NDA.

So, clearing up the main concern, Itagaki assured fans that he will release Devil’s Third in North and South America. Some outlets are already reporting this as him publishing the game directly, but this may not be the case. Itagaki is merely alluding to the fact that he owns the IP, so he can decide to bring the game to the US or not, and he has chosen to do so.

Now, to clear up some requests. Unfortunately, the game will not be compatible with the WiiMote, either on its own, or with the Wii Classic Controller. They were also unable to add in split screen multiplayer.

Itagaki also indirectly confirmed he is still working with Nintendo. Of course, he alluded to NDAs that are keeping him from speaking on it more. He also says questions of price will be addressed by Nintendo in the future. Interestingly, when asked about his mysterious nonappearance at E3, Itagaki says this was a matter with NOA, directly naming Nintendo of America.

While much of Devil’s Third’s US release remains shrouded in mystery, it does seem like the details have already been decided, and we are only waiting for when they will make the proper reveal. As many fans noted, the game has been pulled from the list of pending Wii U games in 2015, but Nintendo of America also claimed to have unannounced games coming until early 2016.

What do you think Devil’s Third’s future in America will be? I think it’s possible Nintendo of America is still involved with the game, but has discreetly delayed it in the region for a bigger reveal. Do you think this could be the case, or is Valhalla publishing the game themselves? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
