“The most dangerous place in the universe is in her gun sights.” – Gen. Holloway
Bombshell, the new IP that pretty much exploded out of a IP possession fiasco, has its sights set on a 2015 release. 3D Realms had revealed the project earlier this year, admitting that it was the “secret” of nogumneeded.com.
The new game is a isometric action game starring Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison, a lady who grew up prioritizing success over sociability. A resilient risk-taker with leadership qualities, Shelly signed up for the Global Defence Force, rising through the ranks and becoming a respected Colonel.
Her career ended after “the Washington Incident,” where she lost her arm and her squad in an explosion caused by an otherworldly bomb. She was honorably discharged from the Force, and was eventually approached by a private military contractor. With revenge on her mind, Shelly accepted the job that would get her a mechanical arm in exchange for her skills. Thus, “Bombshell” emerged, and she’s out to restore her name and career.
Bombshell is gearing up to be the kind of action RPG that players will enjoy not only playing, but also creating new content for. 3D Realms and Interceptor have confirmed on the official Bombshell website that they are working on releasing modding tools for the game. If that’s got you excited, then you probably won’t have to wait too long. Bombshell is scheduled to be released in 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
