Platinum Games has officially unveiled Transformers Devastation with the official gameplay trailer on the Youtube E3 Live stream for 2015.
The game was leaked early last weekend, but the screenshots could not capture the nature of the action in the gameplay, and now we know. Gameplay seems to be trademark Platinum Games, both stylish and technical. As another licensed game, this one is likely to have simpler mechanics than a Bayonetta, but no less satisfying to the core Platinum Games fan.
On the YouTube live event, Platinum confirmed that the game is being worked on by devs who also worked on Bayonetta 2 and their Legend of Korra game. The director is Kenji Saito, famous as the director of Metal Gear Rising.
Transformers fans may also be heartened to know that the game seems to be retaining the look and feel of the original G1 animated series. Devastator’s reveal at the end is set up to be a huge event, and it seems safe to expect he’ll be as much of an imposing monolith in this game as he was in the animated series. We still haven’t seen the Dinobots or Omega Supreme show up either, so you may have to face the Combiner head on as one of the regular sized Autobots instead.
Transformers Devastation will be released on Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
