A trailer for upcoming 3DS game Hyrule Warriors: All-Stars has leaked on Twitter.
No, that’s not a typo. The video was briefly unlisted and live on Tecmo Koei’s YouTube account. In spite of it being taken down, mirrors have proliferated, including our source. It should be noted the video firmly establishes all the characters from the main story of Wii U’sHyrule Warriors are in this trailer, but none of the DLC characters or costumes are.
The video also does not firmly establish if this is a straight port of the Wii U game, or a modified version, a spinoff, or a different game. Of course, it retains the same Musou-style gameplay of striking large waves of enemies with equally immense attacks.
Hyrule Warriors: All-Stars also has two unique characters coming to it, Tetra and the King of Red Lions, both straight out of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. If you do own the Wii U version, it seems that it will be possible to transfer characters from the 3DS game to the Wii U game. We don’t know how it will work out, but if true, this will be the most expensive way to acquire content for the game since Tecmo Koei gated the Spinner in Link and Toon Link amiibo.
This early on, fans are already spreading rumors for Hyrule Warriors: All-Stars. Thanks to the appearance of a certain crossbow, some believe a female version of Link will be in the 3DS game. This is mainly because of concept art showing female Link wielding said crossbow.
