An analyst has said he believes Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V could sell up to 25 million units in the title's first year alone.
Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia has estimated that the next Grand Theft Auto could sell 25 million units in its first year of launch. Although, that's only if Rockstar Game's parent company Take-Two Interactive releases GTA V during the next fiscal year starting in April.
The analyst also said if 90 percent of GTA IV owners purchase the next GTA, with the remaining 10 percent of the install base buying the game, then sales would surpass 20 million units.
Also, Bhatia stated Take-Two's lineup for the next fiscal year is certainly not weak. 2012 sees the launch of 2K's BioShock Infinite, as well as Borderlands 2 and Spec Ops: The Line.
Thanks, Gamasutra.
