Dragon’s Dogma Online Alpha Dated, Two New Jobs Revealed

Dragon’s Dogma Online’s alpha will be launched on April 20, exclusive to PlayStation 3.

You will be able to sign up this coming April 7, and the alpha proper will run from April 20 to 28. Applicants will find out if they will be accepted by April 15, and will get to download the alpha on that day.

For the alpha, players will get to play as the Fighter, Hunter, Priest, and Shield Sage, and get a Pawn supporter. Multiplayer will be able to support four players, and for Grand Missions, eight players. Players will get to play on White Dragon Temple Reeze, Haidel Plain, Bria Coast, and Mythril Forest.

Capcom promises to release a public report on alpha results on May 8, in the buildup to a closed beta later this year, adding Windows and PlayStation 4.

Capcom shared more information on two other jobs, the Seeker and Sorcerer. Seekers are acrobats that play at hit and run tactics. He or she can warp to the enemy’s blind spot, strike large enemies from above, and throw out hurricane like attacks. Sorcerers use incredibly powerful magick, but because of the slow casting times, he or she is dependent on his or her allies.

As to why the PlayStation 3 got alpha first, it may simply be a case of scaling. It may have simply be easier to base the game on the PlayStation 3 version, and then add features to ramp up for PlayStation 4, and a range of scalable options for PCs.
