Bloodborne releases today on the PlayStation 4, and yet it seems rumors are going around that may make you reconsider purchasing the game now.
First, it seems Sony has abandoned several trademarks. Most of these are not known, but surprisingly enough, Bloodborne is part of the list. Our source speculates that, at worst, this may be an administrative error on the part of the lawyers that handle the trademark applications.
The other half of this rumor is a surprise listing from Amazon France for Bloodborne Nightmare Edition for Windows 7 and 8. Sony Computer Entertainment is listed as the game’s publisher.
Now, of course, this does not quite all add up. Even if Sony wanted to bring Bloodborne to PC, they would not be abandoning the trademark for that very purpose.
If you are willing to accept the possibility, this would have to be a situation where Sony agreed to let go of Bloodborne’s PS4 exclusivity for From Software to bring it to PC. Amazon would have had to have received prior word, but not have all the facts, and so they named SCE as publisher.
While it’s true that Microsoft has ended up letting the same thing happen for previous Xbox One exclusives like Dead Rising 3 and Ryse, it didn’t play out like this.
Of course, beyond this, Bloodborne just came out, so letting rumors of this leak would not be good for business.
What do you make of these coming out on the same date that Bloodborne releases? What do you think of the possibility the game would go to PC? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
