Activision has confirmed Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on the PC will indeed receive support for dedicated servers.
The Call of Duty publisher announced during gamescom that the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will receive dedicated servers upon launch.
Why did Activision decide to add dedicated servers to the shooter? They wanted to show consumers that they're still dedicated to the platform. While Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops did support dedicated servers, Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 didn't offer it and the company saw a massive fan backlash.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is currently scheduled for a worldwide release on November 8th.
Thanks, IGN.
