There is never any shortage of rumors and speculation in the video game industry. We see it constantly, and it leaves us wondering just what, among the collection of video game rumors, proves to be real or not. Regardless, it’s always fun to dive into these rumors, and one of them is based around a pretty popular game. If this rumor proves to be accurate, it looks like we can expect a remake for Bloodborne on the PlayStation 5.
The rumor comes from Colin Moriarty, who is an industry insider. Announced through their Twitter account, Colin noted that he has heard Bluepoint Games is heading to Yharnam. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, Yharnam is the location that Bloodborne is set within. We’ve seen the fan base continue to grow for the Bloodborne IP. Ever since the 2015 release, fans have been waiting on a new installment announcement. However, the original development team, FromSoftware, hasn’t brought one out.
Instead, it looks like the studio is focusing purely on their next big release, Elden Ring. That, of course, won’t stop fans from wanting the IP to get picked up in some fashion. We’re eagerly awaiting the launch of Elden Ring, but now that a Bloodborne remake is potentially on the table, it could be quite the exciting few years of Souls-like gameplay. If you haven’t played Bloodborne yet, this game is readily available on the PlayStation 4.
With that said, Bloodborne was published by Sony Computer Entertainment. That has some fans hopeful that a PC port is coming. Sony has been bringing out some of their video game exclusive titles onto the PC platform as well. Of course, this doesn’t mean the game is coming to the PC platform. So far, Sony has been choosing which games are released carefully, and only a limited handful of games have received ports. Perhaps we’ll get some official news on a Bloodborne remake happening from Sony’s Bluepoint Games soon, but for now, we’ll have to wait and see.
